It is inevitable just how much cultural recognition there is with objects such as Tarantino’s blood-splattered samurai sword, Kubric’s glass of milk or Disney’s mouse ears.

Having made films for years and years, some cult filmmakers and their work often become a widely known and iconic piece of pop culture, so easily recognizable that it only takes a single object to identify the filmmaker and their work.

The master of making still photography come to life, Henry Hargreaves, has been working alongside installation artist Nicole Heffron on a yearlong photo series called “Celebrated For You”, where they each month created an image with a fictitious staged birthday celebration for some of the biggest filmmakers. The images are styled and shot through the eyes of a dedicated or slightly obsessive fan, displaying and honoring each filmmakers style, vision and cultural importance.
