Distortion kicks off today and apart from the usual rawkus plethora of cranky sound systems and bars that make up the mental street Distortion there are a series of proper club shows taking place after dark where music really is at the heart of things.. The quality is high again this year and we simply have to be pointing you to one of our favourites parties for tomorrow when the mighty French Manudigital takes to the stage at Global alongside local Digi heroes Firehouse who are also bringing their own sound system to add some extra weight to the house PA. Joining Manudigital will be his occasional partner in toasting MC Bazil and tying up the global reach will be the worldwide Turning Tables crew and the fresh talent of rising danish star Okat.

Copenhagen has had a proper scene for all things Tropical or Global Bass bubbling for many years now, with our own party favourite Copyflex still at the heart of it, along with a host of active and productive crews. This means there is also a mean crowd for this sound out there and with the streets swollen and aimless after dark we betting on this as your room smashing festival kick-off.

This tropical sound is only a niche underground genre in name these days. Mø’s massive worldwide ’Lean On’ hit is a tropical inspired Moombathon beat and these intensely rhythmic, mongrel sounds are coming out of diverse locations from all around the world, infecting pop, club and street music like an air-horn virus.
