Back in 1995 Bryan Lewis Saunders, like many artists before him decided to begin a project making a self portrait every day for the rest of his life. Focusing strongly on how emotion and environment affect the perception of self.  Or as he puts it:

“For hundreds of years, artists have been putting themselves into representations of the world around them.  I am doing the exact opposite.  I put the world around me into representations of myself.”

After some time Bryan looked for some other experiences that would affect his percetion, and began experimenting with taking different drugs and drawing himself under their influence, which is what you see here. Oh, and before you start thinking that you would like to try, I’ll leave you with this quote:

“within weeks [of the experiment] I became lethargic and suffered mild brain damage.”
