Beastie Boys Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win

We kind of slept on this one but this is possibly the best music video ever made. Sick combo with Beastie Boys teaming up with Spike Jonze and totally awesome GI Joe / James Bond storyline. True though – you can’t kill the Beastie Boys.  Continue Reading →

RHCP – I’m with you

r-2

Last tuesday, Red Hot Chili Peppers played in Köln, Germany. The concert was broadcastet to a selection of cinemas all over the world, amongst Palads in Copenhagen. The 2 hour long gig both brought some material from their new album, I’m With You (released monday 29′th of august), and good oldies like Killing in the name of and Give it away. Continue Reading →

Ladies and gentlemen! CHARLES BRADLEY!

bg

I think it was after the third number that I couldn’t hold it in any more. My sunglasses were so steamed up that I couldn’t see a damn thing and tears were running unstoppably down my face. The only man to mend a broken heart, Charles Bradley, Ladies and gentlemen! CHARLES BRADLEY! Continue Reading →

The Strokes saved Yum Yum

Yum Yum Went to Roskilde and the Strokes May Have Saved Him.

I think it was the final storm clouds late Saturday night that did it. I couldn’t take any more. I was done. Roskilde had sapped me dry and I had nothing left to give. I have a suspicion that it might be age, but then again I have never really been a festival kind of dude. The sight of a wet tent fills me with dread and hoards of sweaty kids covered in mud makes me feel uneasy. Too many people drunk and hammered in one place can be a worrying thing to see. Yes, I must be getting old. My buddies call me a princess and they are probably right. Poor Yum Yum. Continue Reading →

IRON MAIDEN: THEY DIDN’T PLAY THE HIT

run_to_the_hills_2

It was a good show. For six wrinkly old buggers, Maiden are surprisingly agile. I took note of the rather homo-erotic display of flexibility, the David Lee Roth spandex stretches…

GHOST INTERVIEW – ROSKILDE 2011

I went to the Satanic Disco and I had a good time.

I confess, I had never heard of Ghost before I went to see them. I just knew that they were meant to be evil. The promo snaps of the band in the Roskilde Festival guide were enough to convince me that they were definitely worth seeing. Satanic version of the Pope? Yes Please! Sorry MIA. The Dark Prince pulls me over once again. Continue Reading →

Little Dragon Interview at Roskilde 2011

“We’re gonna keep on making music even if the crowd gets smaller. We’re doing it because we love to do it, because we have to express ourselves, because that’s who we are. That’s what we’re going to keep doing and to have people who are excited about and love it and want to hear what you’re doing and are curious, that’s just an extra kick”
- Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon.

After the storm – Roskilde Festival

7

This was my sixth year taking photos at Roskilde and I guess I got to the stage where I thought I’d seen it all before – beer bongs, mud, tits & asses, ladidadida. So finding good photos in amongst it all was more difficult than in previous years. But thanks to a blinding thunderstorm and a creepy kid at the Matthew Dear show, I got the photos I wanted. Vær så god – Stanners. Continue Reading →

Hey Iron Maiden, what’s your favourite colour?

Iron Maiden weren’t down for interviews this year so we took to the moshpit queue to get a taste of what the fanswould ask given the opportunity to pop 1 question.

Roskilde review: 1349

1349_portland

For some reason I can smell the presence of the dark prince at Roskilde this year; I can sense the dark bastard. Perhaps it is the proliferation of metal bands this year, or maybe the dark clouds that seem to hover over us, throwing rain and all sorts of shit at us at the middle hours of the day. Whatever is out there, it sure as hell smells of Satan.

BIE-18

BIE was formed roughly half a year ago. Tuesday they played their live drum and bass music at a completely stuffed Pavillion Junior at Roskilde. I got to follow them before, during and after their concert. August and Daniel includes other artists, amongst vocalists and violinists. Check them out here.

Sweaty, hairy guys in big black coats wearing boots as heavy as concrete. Pale girls in short skirts, dark hair and funky eyebrows. Vikings, emos, punks and kiddos. Copenhell started yesterday and this is (somewhat) what it looked like.
