Nydansk Sacha Maric is an English born photographer who has been based in Copenhagen and shooting just about everything since 2004, With work for Norse, Wallpaper, WAD, Libertine-Libertine, and Nylon amongst others, his latest project “Good Mother and Father” is a step in the other direction and a personal look at life, death and sex. It’s being released tomorrow at the Playtype concept store from 16-19 so come along to see some amazing images.

Galleri Naboløs gets all physical this summer.

As an extension of their online platform they will open a summer showroom, located on Valkendorfsgade 15, as a space where works can be seen in their natural form, without the distortion of a back lit screen.

Hosting regular exhibitions and events over the summer, it’s best to keep an eye on their schedule at www.nabolos.dk, or on the book.

You’ll receive a warm welcome, weekdays from 10-16, 12-16 Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

Doors open on Friday, May 11, between 17.00 and 20.00 and you are welcome to join the Naboløs crew for an aperitif and chat about….., how shit the weather is.

Thomas Pålsson, who we featured here in Bitchslap XII is solo exhibiting for 1 day on the 10th of May at Råhuset from 17.00 – 23.00. His show Supreme Manipulation is a collection of 20 thought provoking works. We’ll be there. You should be too.

What can I say? You fuck off on holiday for a month and nothing gets done. Here are the Danish ski champs pics that are so late I’d forgotten about them. Looks like good times, pity I couldn’t make it this year but was stoked Kenneth Nguyen stepped up to the ‘job’. It’s all good though, these are 1000 times better than anything I could nab no matter how many battery packs and extra flashes I tied to my outfit.

It’s a celebration of the unique culture surrounding the thousands of independently owned record stores around the world, that have brought the joy of music to our ear canals.

A Record Store Day participating store is defined as a shop based retailer whose product line consists of at least 50% music retail, whose company is not publicly traded and whose ownership is at least 70% locally owned.
(In other words, we’re talking real, live, physical, indie record stores—not online retailers or corporate behemoths).

I’m glad to say my favourite local vinyl store in Copenhagen, Sound Station, is taking part and a few of the spots in the UK…. I’ve spent way too much time and money in over the years…, Jumbo and Crash in Leeds, Rough Trade  in London and Piccadilly in Manchester.
Vinyl Exchange, also in Manchester, do not seem to be involved, as do Harold Moores Records on Great Marlborough Street in London, but they are old faves so they get a mention here.

Last Shop Standing, The Rise, the fall and the rebirth of the independent record shop is a documentary celebrating the unique spirit of comradeship and entrepreneurial ingenuity that has enabled so many record shops to keep operating, against the backdrop of massive changes in the music industry……..

and the documentary ‘Vinyl’ is a brilliant expose of about record collecting and…… maybe getting your fingers a little too dusty.

Le Fox Holes have played 2 of our release parties and most recently at Volume had half the mosh pit brawling. Possibly cos they were a bunch of fucking snotty slum-rich kids with something to prove – but either way shit was hectic. Anything goes with Jefre on the mic so if you’re into some slaying rock n’ roll, a touch of nakedness and growling guitars, then pop in to Loppen tonight.

One of the best articles from the BS11 ‘Fuck the Kids’ issue of BS Mag was an insight into Danish purveyors of ‘electric soul’  Quadron and I was blessed to experience them tear Lille Vega a new hole the other night.
After spending much of their time over the last year away from Denmark, it was clear from the start that Coco and  Robin were enjoying the glow from a partisan home crowd. They went on to deliver their repertoire with a verve and lyrical confidence that reminded all present why they have become such hot property.

When Coco hit her highest note of the evening, it seemed like every object in the Vesterbro area began vibrating and I consequently uploaded a sonic understanding of string theory through the plastic glass in my hand.
I wandered home happy and a little wiser.

After 6 years working in Holland and Spain, he’s back in the land of pølser and hygge and has just completed an incredibly successful group show at Charlottenborg, being speedily snapped up by Hans Alf (Holbergsgade 13) for an imminent shared show opening March 23.

This title makes no sense in English, so it’s lucky this is a blogpost about a bookrelease on friday here in Copenhagen. Sorry, international people.

Sigurd Hartkorn Plaetner has written a book. It’s in 29 chapters, one for each (Danish) letter, and is about everything from pornography, guidance on how to boil an egg and studying Zebras.

“My book has been called a selfbiography, a collection of short-storys and a toiletbook. In general my book is about my fear of growing up, about my frustration on the way we have designed our community so controlled that it seperates us in the daily life.
Since I’m too bad at dropping beats to become a DJ, has too fat legs to walk around Kødbyen and not beefy enough to star on Paradise Hotel, I saw no other option than sit down and write a book.”

“I hope people will have fun reading it. If they find some sort of truth in it, they must keep in mind it comes from a 22-year old lad, smoking too many cigarets, never eats salad and don’t do any daily exercise.”

The book is out on Friday, and I’ve heard there’s a small release-event at “Din Nye Ven” from 4′o clock.

The lovely (and productive!) chaps over at The Meat, together with the ambitious (and talented) kids at Mogens og Johan have put together this years streetwear look book featuring everyone worth featuring (over 30 brands Thomas told me as he sweated his way through the Norse Projects samples).

What: TAP1 is hosting the annual chocolate-clash this weekend, yesterday they had ice aswell.

I’ve sent all these cats an invite for the next BS Mag almost world famous dance competition….., and before you say shit, yeah they’re all comin’……, even the guy in leg warmers and a crop top….., because he’s my all time fave.

We slept on episode 2, but here’s number 3 featuring the Danish Nike SB team destroying Shanghai in a well produced film by Defekt. Good evening viewing.

Following all the hype of Hjalte Halberg‘s fresh ‘pro skateboarder’ status for Polar last week, the goods continue to roll in. This brilliantly filmed and cut clip from Swedish Defekt shows the Danish Nike SB team rolling into China late last year (a little too late for us to publish the photos unfortunately).  Featuring Hjalte Halberg, Anton Juul, Nis Andersen, Morten Bech during a ten day stay in Shanghai, China with additional appearance by Danijel Stankovic, Nils Svensson, Henrik Svan, Charles Lanceplaine and Luypa Sin.
