No doubt most people interested in Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg especially will want to check this hour long documentary from the BBC showing a rare interview with Zuck-himself and giving us an insight into the current situation of Facebook and the ever-growing importance of who-owns-what regarding data transfer on a global scale.

I’ve always been a big fan of cheese and crackers – hold the pork though – but until now I didn’t realise that my love for these sundowner snacks was worldwide. This is potentially the best advertisement for a salty cracker ever made. I’ll buy a value pack!

Yip, last week Bitchslap Magazine dropped the teaser for the full length interview with Toby and Scott from Fat Freddy’s Drop from before their sell-out show at Vega . Here’s the in-depth side of things where we talk about the balance between the live show, which is no doubt what’s carried Freddy’s thus far, and time in the studio building those addictive beats and ballads. We dig into dub and what it means and take a full run through of who does what and why. Not for those without 10 minutes to kill, we’re aiming this one at the geeks.

We caught up with Chris Cole for an interview while he was in Copenhagen with the entire DC team on the European Riot Tour. We’d been hanging out a few days and… showing the boys the local spots but still had trouble cornering the elusive Chris Cole for a sit down, so we nabbed this chat before a signing at Streetmachine on the way to and from 7-11 where we talked about his rise to the top of skateboarding, changing sponsors and dealing with the pressures of being in the spotlight.

What a lovely chap he is too.

The new GoPro HD Hero2 just dropped and we’re pretty pumped. It claims to be twice as awesome with 11 mega pixel sensor and improved low light design, which was, to be honest, a weakness on the first series. The menu looks easier to navigate (completely fucked on the first series) and it shoots up to 120fps – super rad for slow-mo. Now these cameras aren’t really pretty when you get them out of the ‘everything-proof casing, but who really gives a shit? GoPro are obviously more focussed on the brain than the body – and I like that. Oh, and they’ve chosen to keep the price low, it’s only $60 more than the first HD Hero which might give them troubles if they’re sitting on a few thousand units of the 1G because I for 1 am only interested in getting the new one.

I can’t wait to give this puppy a whirl.

Our homey Gigi Rüf and his gang of ‘Burn units‘ team riders just released their latest film which explores two sides of riding; The crispy machine-cut park and pipe gig versus natural terrain and hand made booters. Rad to see they rip both.

Stept Productions worked with The North Face and K2 Skis, to bring you a ski film that captures the new movement in skiing. Skiers explore the streets of Boston and Chicago in search of the biggest rails in the world, while running into some inspiring characters along the way. When the cities dry out, the weight is lifted, and the crew finds themselves skiing neck deep powder, and pushing the limits of jumping.

Yukimi from Little Dragon was kind enough to take the time to talk to Bitchslap Magazine about their live show and upcoming album ‘Ritual Union’ at Roskilde Festival 2011. Despite the fact that the label area was right next to a gigantic orange stage and we were pushed into a echoey container, we kind of managed to salvage the sound and pop this little interview together.

To see the summer out we ganged up with Street Machine, NikeSB, Volcom, Enjoi and Guld Tuborg for a chill out session, bbq and some casual competing at one of Copenhagen’s most skated ledge spots.
The weather was on our side and we nailed the beers and dogs before you could say Thomas Gade super fast lipslide big spin out.
We had so many prizes that it turned to a tic-tac race and product toss to get rid of it all and by the time the cops showed we were pretty much done anyway so it was no biggie.

While the entire Supra team was destroying Europe this summer we hooked up with Erik Ellington for a talk about his involvement in the industry and why he hates deadlines. Erik is a super mellow, very down to earth and ultra polite guy. He’s also an amazing skateboarder and it was a pleasure to spend some time hanging out and watch him stick almost everything he tried at fælledparken.

In the run up to Bitchslap Magazine’s (almost) world famous dance competition at Issue 14′s November release party….. it seems the right time to start tapping one foot in time…. or out of time….,

in preparation for the “languorous and insinuating movements” we’ll all be hoping to achieve in a few weeks time.

We kind of slept on this one but this is possibly the best music video ever made. Sick combo with Beastie Boys teaming up with Spike Jonze and totally awesome GI Joe / James Bond storyline. True though – you can’t kill the Beastie Boys. 

Yea Norway is dope (which is even more apparent in episode 1 of this series), especially cos they build huge booters that people can hit at 3am in the never-setting sun. I don’t care what time of day it is, I’m not dropping in on that thing – but check Gigi Rüf and Nicolas Müller (looks like you need an ü in your surname to ride for Nike these days) and the rest of the crew and they blaze this set up.

In July, the Emerica team with Leo Romero, Brandon Westgate, Andrew Reynolds, Bryan Herman, Kevin ‘Spanky’ Long and Jerry Hsu came to Euroland. Fellow Emerica riders Eniz Fazliov, Tom Knox, Rob Maatman, Vladik Scholz and Helder Lima joined the team to represent the European Emerica contingent. We spotted them in Berlin doing a bit of skating and tons of partying. They also stopped off in Norway and Finland. I wouldn’t really call that a Euro tour, but the footy is all the same – dope!

Lol Crawley is one of the most sought after DOP’s working in cinema today and I’m completely pumped to say he’s agreed to be interviewed in BS14.

His work on Alex and her arse truck, Ballast, Better Things and Four Lions proved to all what I’d known for ages: filmmakers who work with Lol make better films.

2011 has brought experiences at Sundance Film Festival (with Andrew Okpeaha MacLean’s On the Ice & Braden King’s HERE ), Cannes Atelier project Ilya Khrjanovsky’s Dau, about the life of Lev Davidovich Landau and currently shooting some scenes in London for Bill Murray’s new film ‘Hyde Park on Hudson’.

Hand picked for the stunning Chase and Status’s Blind Faith, (which is a contender for best music vid of this year) anything he touches literally turns into pure 100% truth.

He’s a really nice guy too.

I love the Muppets and I’m a great big fan of the video work from OK GO so this colab smash up is right up my alley.
