Hello.
A cloudy morning and broken toe strap made it tricky for me to get up the hill for the start of the pipe warm ups today. Unfortunately it kinda rain/snowed last night so those without the right waxy stuff for their bases were pretty much shit out of luck, as it was stop-in-your-tracks slow, but as the day warmed and the sun stuck its cheeky face through the greybird, the sludge turned to my favourite kind of wet-landing, try-stuff slush. The pipe was pretty destroyed, both from the rain and the fact that it’s the end of the season, but Hemsedal Ski Sentre did a pretty good job of cleaning it up for the Danes.
It was a super casual affair, and everything got pushed forward due to the cold and to keep everyone stoked. Simon Houlind was stomping Mctwists all through the qualifiers but failed to stick them in the final securing him a big fat zero on the podium. BUT later in the day, when we did laps ’til closing, he was cleaning up all over the rails, as was NEP and the Grongs. Shit it’s dope to ride with a crew of killers that make you think about squeezing the extra 1 out of your pathetic spin and perhaps grab your shit a little longer.
